This subcategory gathers indigenous social groups of Australia and Oceania, including Aboriginal Australians, the Maori of New Zealand, and Samoan society, each documented by a distinct language, kinship system, and traditional territory predating and continuing alongside the modern states that now govern the region. It does not cover the states of Australia or the Pacific, which Political and Geography carry, nor Pacific mythology and religious practice, which Divinity carries.
