Michel Callon was a French sociologist, born in 1945, who was a professor of sociology at the Ecole des mines de Paris and a member of its Centre de sociologie de l'innovation. He worked in the field of science and technology studies and, together with Madeleine Akrich, John Law and Bruno Latour, was one of the leading proponents of actor-network theory. He died on 28 July 2025.
